Summer Holiday 2015: Go to Europe Now

The Ruins of Jerpoint Abbey

If you’re like us, when spring arrives, it is time to start planning your summer vacation. That can be an easy decision if you go to the same place every year. However, if you are like us, that means planning a new destination every year. So, if you haven’t made plans for your summer holiday 2015 yet, we want to encourage you to go to Europe. NOW!!!

The truth is, there has never been a better time to visit Europe. In the past, travelers to Europe were at a significant disadvantage given the currency disparities. Goods and services that were relatively expensive, became extremely expensive when visitors factored for the currency differences. However, the U.S. Dollar is extremely strong against the euro right now. The euro is at a 10-year low, so your dollar buys so much more. As of today, the dollar and euro are almost at parity. There has never been a better time to visit Europe.

The travel landscape has also changed in Europe over the last 5-10 years. Travel planning has become much easier in the last decade. Many hotels and tour providers in Europe were 20 years late to the computer revolution. However, online booking tools have simplified the travel planning process.

But the best reason to visit Europe this summer is that there are so many amazing places to see! Here are three of our favorites right now:

Germany – This is a great time to visit Germany. Last year was the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and this year the country will honor 25 years of reunification. The country’s tourism board is promoting its customs and traditions – including bratwurst (which makes me really happy). There is an amazing collection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany, along with monuments to World War II. Our articles on Germany.

The Residenz in Wurzburg, Germany - one of the top things to do in Wurzburg, Germany

Ireland – It’s always a great time to visit Ireland. The Emerald Isle’s celtic ruins are some of the most enchanting sites you can possibly imagine. But it’s the Irish people that will have returning again and again. Our articles on Ireland, plus a special Ireland itinerary.

Slovakia – Not high on most Americans radar, Slovakia in Eastern Europe offers it all: amazing mountains, ancient cultural sites, relaxing hot springs spas, and delicious food. Slovakia may well be one of our favorite countries in the world right now. Our articles on Slovakia.

No matter where you decide to go in Europe for your summer vacation, you’ll be rewarded with a rich cultural experience that won’t break the bank!
